Effect of Clinical Decision-Making Based on Interactive Training on Successful Extubations in Intensive Care Unit Patients

Background: The proper decision-making on weaning patients from the ventilator, removing endotracheal tube, reducing complications, and way of cooperating between doctor nurse is always one concerns intensive care unit (ICU) nurses. Objectives: This study aimed to determine effect clinical based interactive education successful extubations in ICU. Methods: quasi-experimental was conducted 50 nurses ICU Ganjavian Hospital Dezful, Iran, within August-December 2021. were selected inclusion criteria randomly assigned into intervention control groups. Clinical training regarding extubation provided interactively for month five sessions experimental group. data obtained using a demographic information questionnaire, Decision-Making Questionnaire by Lauri et al., checklist analyzed SPSS software (version 24) descriptive inferential statistics (i.e., chi-square test, covariance, independent t-test, paired t-test). Results: No difference observed two groups terms (P < 0.05). After intervention, mean score nurses’ decisions number group higher than group, with statistically significant = 0.014). Conclusions: Interactive effectively improves skills concerning extubations. Therefore, it suggested use this method educational programs improve nurses, students, nursing managers.
